Extensive project management experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to develop first of a kind capabilities and successfully execute complex multi-million dollar projects. Project Engineer for rotary kiln EWI in Korea, TFF at Anniston, TFF at Talon, and several commercial contained burn systems. Project Manager for rotary explosive waste incinerator design/build projects in Ukraine and Belgium. Project Manager for large scale turnkey contained burn projects at Letterkenny Army Depot (PA) for ammonium perchlorate based rocket motors and at Camp Minden (LA) for single based propellants. Professional instructor and published author on topics including industrial burners, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, demilitarization systems, and formation and control of emissions. Holder of two patents.

Has had supervisory responsibility for more than 100 projects, both governmental and private. Is highly experienced with strategic planning and maintenance of budgets for both cash flow and manpower.

Mr. Ralph Hayes was a founder and the first president of EDE, and led the company from startup to a multi-million dollar international design/build firm. He served as project manager on several Explosive Waste Incinerator design/build projects including projects in Taiwan, Korea, UK, Germany, and Albania. He led the efforts of EDE in support of multiple chemical munitions disposal projects, including in-country work for technology transfer for the Russian facility. He led the team that characterized the emissions and downstream ground level concentrations of pollutants from the space shuttle booster.

Over thirty-five years work experience as a licensed electrician.  Holds current Master Electrician and General Electrical Contractor licenses.  AAS Degree in Electrical/Apprenticeship.  Supervisory and Project Management responsibilities.  Specialization in design, fabrication, and installation of electrical control panels and system automation. Experience with PLC programming and HMI development.  Responsible for installation, integration, testing and training on EDE systems in industrial plant processes in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Senior Mechanical Engineer with extensive project management experience.  Principle Project Engineer for Contained Burn Ammonium Perchlorate Rocket Motor Demil (ARMD) facility.  Directed systemization of a 120 million dollar hazardous waste processing facility.  Conceived and developed both high volume production and custom products.  Responsible for continuously operating 24 MMBTU hazardous waste processing furnace and air pollution control abatement system.  Conducted validation activities for new processes and procedures including function testing and HAZOP studies. Has vast experience in compliance with government regulations while meeting customer requirements.  Holder of six (6) patents.

Design Engineer for a Transportable Flashing Furnace for flashing operations at Anniston Army Depot.  Provided engineering on various projects which include high purity water treatment and waterjet systems, Explosive Waste Incinerator, and accompanying pollution control, and static firing of MLRS rocket motors.

Assisted in design of a large scale contained burn system with advanced pollution control for disposing of M6 propellant at Camp Minden, Louisiana. Designed and analyzed modifications to feed system trolley, autoclave door, burn tray, and firing shelf water cooling system at Camp Minden. Provided structural analysis to various components of the Contained Burn System (CBS) at Camp Minden. Provided heat transfer analysis and engineering support for waste heat management of small incinerators at OC Tanner Company. Designed and constructed a dynamic phantom to aid in research of how thermal energy spreads through human tissue to improve heat treatments for cancer therapies.
