explosive environments, El Dorado Engineering (EDE) has developed
world-class expertise in supporting disciplines. We understand, apply,
and have contributed to government and commercial standards for
explosive safety. Automatic control systems are included in our
equipment designs to protect personnel from hazardous environments;
complex data acquisition systems allow process diagnostics in real time.
EXPLOSIVES SAFETY & HAZARDS ANALYSIS
EDE prepares Site Plan/Safety Submissions (SP/SS), Explosives Safety
Plans (ESP), Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Hazards Analysis
(HA) for client operations and facilities.
| OPERATIONS |
EDE prepares SP/SS, ESP, and HA for explosives contaminated
site remediation/restoration projects. We provide coordination
with government regulators/reviewers throughout plan development
and approval. |
| EQUIPMENT |
EDE designs, fabricates, and installs blast effects
shielding for excavation and other equipment. EDE designs and
fabricates hazardous location equipment and controls for use
with PEP. |
| FACILITIES |
EDE provides assistance in explosives facility layout and
design. Explosives safety, quantity-distance, barricading and
shielding, explosives storage requirements are addressed. SP/SS,
ESP, and HA can be provided. |
AUTOMATION/CONTROLS/ROBOTICS
EDE performs a full complement of automation, controls,
instrumentation, and data acquisition services ranging from component
design and specification to total, turn-key installation, system
integration, and commissioning.
AUTOMATED CONTROL
SYSTEMS AND SYSTEMS
INTEGRATION |
EDE provides equipment automation analysis and
state-of-the-art automated controls for both individual clients
and in support of our in-house systems designs. Automation
designs range from simple repetitive cycle sequencing of
equipment, to complex, multifunction machine and material
handling or other process operations. EDE can provide
integration of these systems into overall facility operations. |
| ROBOTICS |
EDE can provide custom end-of-arm tooling and robotic design
for operations which are best served by robotic accuracy,
repeatability, and dependability or by “taking the man out of
the hazard.” EDE specializes in selection of the best robotic
technology for the application. |
INSTRUMENTATION
DESIGN |
EDE provides process instrumentation design for
“one-of-a-kind” measurements as well as plant-wide instrument
systems, including development of Process Flow Diagrams, Loop
Diagrams, P&ID drawings as well as instrument documentation and
calibration. Safety Instrumented System (SIS) can be provided
as required by the application (e.g., burner controls). |
ELECTRICAL DESIGN FOR
HAZARDOUS LOCATIONS |
EDE’s global experience in design of electrical equipment
for hazardous locations include Containment (explosion proof),
Segregation (Purge and Pressurization systems), Refined
mechanical construction (Increased Safety, Non-Incendive), and
Energy Limiting (Intrinsic Safety) as applied to North America
area Class, Division and Group classifications and to
International Zone classifications. |
CUSTOM CONTROL
PANELS |
EDE can provide custom control panel design and/or
fabrication for equipment ranging from simple pump controls to
complex control equipment. |
| DATA ACQUISITION |
EDE conducts on-site, high speed data acquisition. We can
measure explosives blast effects on structures (pressure,
strain, thermal) and free field. |
