MACHINE DESIGN

EDE has designed all types of machines and systems ranging from simple tool modifications to highly automated processes.

Hydraulics/ Pneumatics
EDE personnel have experience in designing machines that operate on hydraulic and pneumatic power.

Strength of Materials
EDE can select required materials based on desired properties, strength, corrosion resistance, and fatigue analyses. EDE has personnel have completed designs for high temperature and severely corrosive environments.

Material Handling
Designs for standard and specialized material handling and conveying equipment have been developed, fabricated and installed utilizing all types of indexing and transfer mechanisms.

HVAC
EDE has performed design development and installation of HVAC systems for all size buildings, dams, power plants, computer centers, and environmetal test chambers.

Controls and Monitors

EDE possesses experience with PLC and HMI control coupled with instrumentation for the recording/controlling of precision automated equipment. Experience with video systems, infrared and ultraviolet sensor systems, and special audio systems.

System Integration

EDE provides equipment automation analysis and state-of-the-art automated controls for both individual clients and in support of our in-house systems designs.

Robotics

EDE can provide custom end-of-arm tooling and robotic design for operations which are best served by robotic accuracy,  repeatability, and dependability or by "taking the man out of the hazard." EDE specializes in selection of the best robotic technology for the application.

Instrumentation Design

EDE provides process instrumentation design for "one-of-a-kind" measurements as well as plant-wide instrument systems. Safety Instrumented System (SIS) can be provided as required by the application (e.g., burner controls).

Hazardous Locations

EDE has global experience in the design of electrical equipment for hazardous locations using both U.S. and European standards.

Custom Control Panels

EDE can provide custom control panel design and/or fabrication for equipment ranging from simple pump controls to complex control equipment.

Data Acquisition

EDE conducts on-site, high speed data acquisition, and measures explosive blast effects on structures (pressure, strain, thermal) and free field.

Chemical Process Equipment

EDE has a wide range of process plant experience including design of hazardous waste incineration facilities and chemical plant processes including liquid nitrogen manufacturing and distribution.

Economic, Energy, and Feasibility Studies

EDE has performed several studies for energy conservation, economic analyses, and waste to fuel studies, feasibility and optimization studies.
