El Dorado Engineering, Inc. of Salt Lake City, Utah has performed design, fabrication, installation, and start-up of the Contained Burn System (CBS) turnkey project at Camp Minden, Louisiana. This system has properly disposed of 15.6 million pounds of M6 propellant and Clean Burn Ignitors (CBI) that was left abandoned and deteriorating on site. EDE performed this complete project, from design to start-up, in 10 months.
This one of a kind system is truly state of the art. At full operation it disposed of over 2500 lbs. of propellant an hour with emissions well below the standards set by the EPA, as verified by the performed Comprehensive Performance Test (CPT).
El Dorado Engineering now builds transportable pollution control systems to complement our transportable flashing furnace (TFF). EDE developed this novel solution as society has become more aware of the impacts and concerns related to environmental issues. This approach still allows the versatility of site operations allowed by EDE's TFF, but will also significantly reduce the environmental impacts associated with thermal processing.
